Pig Breeding Gets A “Conga Line”!

Hey Guys, Be The First To This With Your Friends

FarmVille and Zynga have introduced the “Conga Line” feature to the Pig Pen just like they did to the Sheep Pen just a few days ago.

Now when you choose two pigs to breed, you will be able to see a Conga line of their offspring Piglets possibilities. At that point you can also pick a different breeding mate.

FarmVille has gifted everyone with a free Green Boar to help you get started breeding.

New Pig Breeding Patterns Coming Soon!

Hey Guys, Be The First To This With Your Friends

FarmVille and Zynga have added in a new Loading Screen tonight showing off that there will soon be the same “Conga Line” as with sheep breeding as well as new Patterns to Pig Breeding. We have already shown you the 8 UNRELEASED Pig Patterns earlier in this week.

Some off the patterns include Flowers, Checker, Moon, Heart, Racing Stripes, Zig Zag, Spiral, Tiger Stripes. You can see them all Here.

FarmVille Sheep & Pig Breeding Conga Line Now Live!

Hey Guys, Be The First To This With Your Friends

Are you ready to Conga?

Yesterday on Farm Rockers we shared with you an exclusive video provided by Zynga (see video below) about the Conga line coming to Sheep and Pig breeding. This feature is now live!

The Conga line feature allows you to preview the possibilities of offspring that your chosen breeders may produce. To see this feature in action, simply click on a Ram and an Ewe as you would normally. This will trigger a Conga line of the breeders that you selected. Additionally you have the option of changing your choices, make a new breeding selection and then see that pairs offspring possiblities.

This should clear up a lot of confusion as to what your Lamb or Piglets can grow up to be.

To see a demo of the new feature, watch the video below provided by Zynga’s FarmVille Community Manager Grimwell.

New Information On Pig And Sheep Breeding!

Hey Guys, Be The First To This With Your Friends

This information was just posted on the Official FarmVille Blog. It is basically stating that they have shut down illegal Sheep and Pig breeding and have reverted animals BACK to their original states. “Players who bred sheep and pigs using illicit methods have had their animals revert to their original base colors and no patterns.” also “Pigs and sheep acquired from feed posts (but at some point were generated using illicit methods) will get to retain their unusual colors and patterns. However, attempts to breed with these pigs or sheep will result in default colors and no additional pattern inheritance.”

We wanted to give an update to everyone regarding certain kinds of disallowed sheep that have been available in FarmVille as well as a similar issue that appeared with pigs this past weekend. Certain types of sheep and pig colors/patterns not yet released have been improperly distributed in FarmVille; we are currently going through the process of making sure this practice stops. The steps that we have taken are:

  • The methods by which players were able to breed unreleased sheep and pig colors and patterns have been closed.
  • Players who bred sheep and pigs using illicit methods have had their animals revert to their original base colors and no patterns.
  • Pigs and sheep acquired from feed posts (but at some point were generated using illicit methods) will get to retain their unusual colors and patterns. However, attempts to breed with these pigs or sheep will result in default colors and no additional pattern inheritance. Should we release these additional colors or patterns legitimately then players will be able to breed that animal in the appropriate, correct manner. This is not an implication that you or your neighbors have done something wrong. This is a breeding restriction of colors and patterns that as of yet have not intended to be released.

So what’s currently allowed to breed and what’s not?

  • Most current colors are allowed but the “flashing” colors are definitely NOT.
  • Currently Allowed Sheep Patterns: Plain, Spotted, Striped
  • Currently Alllowed Pig Patterns: Plain, Spotted

Again, the intention is to stop the distribution of colors and patterns that are not currently intended but not to punish our players who have acquired these animals legitimately. When we do release these colors or patterns, you’ll be able to breed with them just as intended.

Pig Breeding Arrives!

Hey Guys, Be The First To This With Your Friends

Attention pig owners, pig breeding is now available! You can start making new piglets immediately if you have a Pig Pen on either your Home Farm or your English Countryside farm. If you don’t have a Pig Pen at all, don’t worry—we’ll give you another one for free via a pop-up window:

If you have one already built, fantastic! You’ll get a free boar as a prize.

We’ve also streamlined the way truffle hunting works, and we’ve revised the rewards you get for redeeming truffles! Read on for all the details.

Let’s make some piglets!

Breeding new pigs is a lot like breeding new sheep. Click on your completed Pig Pen, and then choose “Look Inside” to see the new Pig Pen interface:

If your Pig Pen is empty, you’ll need to move some pigs (not to mention a boar) into it in order to start breeding. In the example above, we have three different kinds of pigs in the Pig Pen: a Purple Boar, a Pot Belly Pig and a Tamworth Pig.

Some changes have been made: Pig Slop is no longer a Pig Pen feature, and there are now a row of stalls at the upper left (also similar to the Sheep Pen, you get one stall for each constructed level of the Pig Pen).

You’ll need a boar and a pig (or sow) to start breeding, the result of which is a piglet, which once fully grown will take on some of the characteristics of the parents, such as colors and perhaps the patterns. More than likely there will be some variation in the colors, depending on the colors of the parents. The pattern can only be inherited from the boar, but if both parents have the same pattern, the chance of pattern inheritance is much higher.

Now let's start breeding. Click on the boar you want to breed with—in the case of this example, the Purple Boar. You’ll see options to Breed with it, or Remove it from the Pig Pen (or click on the X to close the pop-up):

After clicking on Breed, the pigs/sows you can breed with the boar will remain in full color while the available boards will grey out. Click on the pig/sow you want to breed with and you’ll see some similar options. Here I’m choosing the Tamworth Pig:

Select Breed again and you’ll see the Breeding window:

Breeding a new pig is a 24 hour process and carries (by default) a 50% success rate, meaning if you’re not successful you have to start all over again. You can improve your chance of success (while decreasing the amount of time it takes to breed) by using Love Potions. You can acquire Love Potions by:

* Buying them via the Buy Potions button in the Pig Pen window (5 Love Potions at a time)
* Asking your neighbors for Love Potions via the Ask for Potions button in the Pig Pen window.

Here’s the impact of using Love Potions:

* No Love Potions used: 50% success rate, breed time: 24 hours
* 1 Love Potion used: 60% success rate, breed time: 12 hours
* 2 Love Potions used: 70% success rate, breed time: 6 hours
* 3 Love Potions used: 80% success rate, breed time: 3 hours
* 4 Love Potions used: 90% success rate, breed time: 1 hour
* 5 Love Potions used: 100% success rate, breed time: instant

You can use the up and down arrows to choose how many Love Potions you want to spend. If you don’t have enough, you’ll be prompted to buy more. When you’re satisfied with your chances, click on Breed (or Cancel if you don’t want to try breeding at this time). You may have to wait a few seconds…

The stall at the upper left is occupied and their places in the Pig Pen pasture are replaced with helpful signs. If there’s a timer, a clock in the stall will show how much time is left to go. Once the boar and pig are done doing their thing (or you used instant breeding), the Ready! button will show up over the stall. Click on it.

With any luck, you’ve bred a new piglet! You can choose to name your piglet (choose anything within the Terms of Service), choose to Give it Away (this will make a post to your feed) or you can keep it.

At this moment, you still don’t know how the piglet will turn out—you’ll need to grow it up. Once you click on “Keep Piglet” you’ll get the option to place it on your farm.

Click anywhere on your farm to place it. You can click on the piglet at any time to get a menu of options:

A piglet can be fully grown using 10 Baby Bottles. You can acquire or give Baby Bottles by:

* Asking your neighbors directly by clicking on “Ask for Bottles”
* Purchasing Bottles in the Market for 1 Farm Cash each
* Acquire all the needed Bottles by spending Farm Cash (click on the “Complete Now” button to purchase the remaining Bottles). The Cost is X Farm Cash, where X is the number of Bottles needed to grow the Lamb.
* Gifting the bottles via the Free Gifts page.

Also note you can change the name of the piglet at any time by choosing Change Name (even after the piglet is fully grown). Selecting Feed Bottles will give as many bottles as you have in your inventory (up to the maximum needed of 10) to your piglet. Once you’ve applied 10 Bottles the piglet will now grow up into a full boar or pig.

You’ll also get this pop-up asking you to celebrate by sharing some baby bottles with your neighbors via a feed post:

Currently boars only come in two different patterns: plain (which is really not a pattern at all, or if you want to get really technical it’s a pattern of the exact same color as the boar) and spotted. As noted above, the colors available for pig breeding is a somewhat random process, based on the colors and patterns of the parents used. Each color a parent possesses has a certain color range to it that can be applied to the lamb in question, so you never really know what you’re getting exactly.

Finally, note that there is a limit as to how many bred boars and pigs you can have on each farm at any one time. The limit is 100, which includes all bred pigs on that particular farm, in that farm’s Pig Pen, and in the Gift Box. This is per farm, so you can have up to 100 for each the Home Farm and the English Countryside farm.

And that’s pig breeding!

Truffle hunting and other Pig Pen changes

As we noted above, Pig Slop has been removed from the Pig Pen (and in fact from the game altogether). If you still have some in your Gift Box or elsewhere, go ahead and get rid of it.

Truffle hunting has been streamlined tremendously. When you click to harvest your Pig Pen, you’ll start your only truffle hunt of the day. The pig chosen to hunt with is completely random, as is the neighbor’s farm you can find the truffle on:

If you find a truffle (there is a chance you won’t), you’ll see this pop up with the note to share the truffle with that neighbor. Clicking Share will ask you to make a post to their wall, informing them that you found a truffle on their farm. They can then respond by returning the same type of truffle to you by posting on your wall.

Again, this will be the only truffle hunt of the day; once your Pig Pen is ready to be harvested again (once every 24 hours), you can try for another truffle hunt.

The prizes for redeeming a truffle (you can find them in your Gift Box) have been heavily revised. You can get building parts, bottles, love potions, and all sorts of other treats (including other animals) by redeeming truffles now.

Finally, Pig Pens now visually show which pigs you have in it, similar to Sheep Pens. The pigs you put in last show up in each of the 3 stalls as well as the mud yard in front of the pen.

Have you already started pig breeding? Will this overtake sheep breeding?

Love Potions Now in Crafting Pubs & Other New Crafting Recipes

Hey Guys, Be The First To This With Your Friends

FarmVille has updated your English Countryside Pubs with the amazing ability to craft Love Potions!

That’s right you can now craft Love Potions using the Love Potion Recipe in your Pubs. It’s a good thing because with the existing shortage of Love Potions needed for Sheep Breeding, you will now also be needing Love Potions for the new Pig Breeding.

Farm Rockers Exclusive: Pig Breeding Confirmed as Coming Soon!

Hey Guys, Be The First To This With Your Friends

We’ve all heard the rumors of FarmVille Pig Breeding and upgrades to the Pig Pen. Finally, Farm Rockers is happy to confirm that Pig Breeding is coming soon!

It is no surprise really that Pig Breeding is in our near future with the success of Sheep Breeding and the positive feedback from many farmers who enjoy the endless possibilities of breeding Sheep.

Below is the image of the user interface when “Looking Inside” the new Pig Pen. From what we gather based on the image it seems that Pig Breeding will work very similar to Sheep Breeding.

As seen clearly in the image, there will be a Pig Pen Expansion available and Love Potions will also be utilized to breed Pigs to guarantee Piglets. So start stocking up on Love Potions! Remember, that you can “Ask For Love Potions” every 4 hours by posting a Facebook News Feed share. Whenever your neighbors click your share, they give you a Love Potion and also get one for themeselves. Up to five neighbors can click on a single Love Potion share.

At the moment, we cannot confirm any more details on the Pig Pen and Pig Breeding, but be sure to stay tuned to Farm Rockers for up to the minute coverage as it happens!

What do you think of FarmVille Pig Breeding? Are you ready to try your luck at Pig Breeding?

Pigs, Potions, and Piglets The Future.

Hey Guys, Be The First To This With Your Friends

The image above suggests a few things.

1) That Potion works on all animals to increase the odds of children.

2) That Pig Pen Breeding is soon.

3) Potion is going to likely become harder to get.

This is disappointing to a degree, but gives hope to the fact Zynga will maybe do something to make Potions easier to get. Such as that 3 love potion pack image we posted, maybe soon each potion request will be worth 15 potions instead of 5, with each helper getting 3 per click.

Are you excited about the Pigs? So far none of the designs are new. The Dotted pig is a reused Ossabaw, and the Stripe is a reused Saddleback Pig. At least the Sheep Designs were new. But likely Zynga knows what they are doing. There are over 10 Calves that look exactly alike minus color, so many horses and foals that are simple color changes.

There are 3 things about the Pig Breeding that could be troublesome: 1) Potions, or lack of. 2) Lazy patterns, 3) How many Pigs can be created per farm? Will Pigs and Sheep be in the same limit? Will we have to choose how many of each?

And Zynga really should put out something saying WHY there is a limit of 100 Sheep.

PS: Who wants to guess the next creature to get their Own Personal Love Shack in the game?

Pig Breeding Getting Closer?

Hey Guys, Be The First To This With Your Friends

Earlier last week we showed off a VERY exclusive image of some of the Pig Breeds that will be showing up soon! Well, with the latest batch of UNRELEASED comes a new screen that displays some friendly mom and dad pig and even a piglet!

The dad with his mop top totally fits the profile and the mom is a basic looking pig. The piglet is nothing more than recolored piglets from before. You can expect to use love potions and bottles much like sheep breeding.

Are you getting stoked for Pig Breeding? Will you be breeding pigs when it arrives?

UNRELEASED Pig Breeding Patterns!

Hey Guys, Be The First To This With Your Friends

Earlier this week we showed you some images of the UNRELEASED Pig Breeding feature that is about to hit Farmville in the near future. Today we have found some images that will show you exactly how your pigs are gonna look like, once this feature is released. Currently, there seem to be only two patterns, Spots and Stripes. We are guessing more patterns will be available in the end.

Note: This feature is still UNRELEASED and there is no way to breed pigs yet.

What do you think of this new feature? Are you excited to breed pigs?

Unreleased Pig Breeding!

Hey Guys, Be The First To This With Your Friends

FarmVille and Zynga will soon be introducing Pig Breeding! Thats right, in the podcast last week Lexi mentioned that "Some revisions are coming to the Pig Pen as well; changes we think you’re going to like a lot". That revision seems to be Pig Breeding! We will make sure to post more information as it becomes available!

Note: Do not mind the Lambs, Ewes and Rams text on the image, it is just a placeholder.

Will you be breeding pigs? Will you continue to breed Sheep?
